This is the latest piece and is created with wire harvested from motors and transformers, in varying thicknesses and colours.
Starfish.
Made with red and light coloured copper wire recycled from a transformer. The arms articulate, mimicking the real creature. I do not try to copy them, but just catch their essence.
Monkfish
This particular piece is made with red, dark and light copper wire for the top half of the body and white plastic coated wire for its underside.
Tube Sponge
The copper wire for this is recycled from an old computer screen and is created on a wooden french kntting frame I designed and made myself.
All these wire sculptures above can be viewed and purchased at Craft in the Bay the Makers Guild in Wales retail outlet in Cardiff Bay.
Large Starfish
This starfish is knitted with wire from the insides of a slot machine and the colours are just as they are.
Small Octopus
Both plastic coated wire and coloured copper wire were used to create this small octopus. The eyes are made of bronze bearings from an electical motor.
